The creation of the UN Reform was a sign of hope to many countries because of tragedies, such as the Syrian tragedy, Sep 2011 and Iran nuclear weaponry. The UN Reform was founded in 1945 and within the UN Reform there is a security council. The Security Council consists of 5 permanent and 10 non-permanent members. Permanent members of Security Council are United States, United Kingdom, Russia and China. Their responsibility is to maintain international peace and security. They can impose sanctions or authorize the use of force. The UN Reform wouldn’t involve case of genocide, crimes against humanity or long scale of war. France has been a big participant when it comes to having a role in human rights issues. Other roles France plays in the United Nations are environment and climate disruption, official development assistance, maintenance of peace and security and permanent mission of France to the United Nations in New York.
Even to this day France is trying to make an impact. The Security Council representatives from Syria, Russia and China have blocked any resolutions calling for the use of force against Bashas Assas regime. France has suggested reforming the powerful veto power of the body’s five permanent members: the US, UK, France, Russia and China. In my opinion I believe the UN Reform has a big impact when it comes to surrounding countries.
